Team,
How are you? I hope all is well. Today was and still is an extremely busy day and we have seen over 1,000 members already. A few good things that I have noticed:
1- Pelin and Chris did a great job on the floor today – big improvement.
2- The floor was packed with trainers – looked amazing!
3- Chris, although not quite filling the role today, let us know if we needed him, he will assist.
4- Chris did (in between clients) approach members with jackets and bags and made the members check it.
However, the member and employee experience is being affected by what I am about to bullet. Please let me know what actions you will be taking to ensure we execute flawlessly in these areas.
1- Trainers on their cell phones on the floor, in the lobby and outside the kid’s club. (Amanda Fowler, Pelin, Nate, Kylee, and Megan Ryan.) The message from the day the club opened was and is if a trainer or any employee needs to make a call, they can use an office or the operations area. That’s it. It amazes me that this is still going on. I would like to see a big turnaround with Nate.
2- Trainers hanging out on the couches in the lobby – Kylee to be specific. I can’t tell you how many times I have relayed a message to you both regarding Kylee. I’m not sure why she still feels it’s no big deal making phone calls on the couch in the lobby?
3- Trainers bags ALL OVER THE OFFICE TODAY.
4- Trainers handing out towels every 30 min on the half hour, didn’t happen.
5- No management present on Sat. The easiest solution; the only solution is if G is working, Lisa is off, if Lisa is working, G is off. When I approve a MIT covering a shift, it is exactly what it is, a shift - not while training clients.
I have e-mailed you both and verbally communicated to you both all of these issues but at this point, it seems as if the message is not getting through to your staff; I could not make this point clearer.
We are all committed and have been committed to this standard – nothing has changed; we strive to be number 1.
What is the issue here? Is it insubordination or miscommunication?
These are my expectations; I will follow up daily to ensure they are being met. Non compliance will result in disciplinary action for both you and your staff.
Let me know if you have any questions or need any help.

FINALLY, the heat is of The Other Curtis. That Nate guy sounds like a really putz and GET OFF THE DAMN COUCH, KYLEE. FUCK.
Shit really gets serious at the end huh? It’s all about fear and intimidation at Globo…err… Equinox Gym.
Anyway, the above email was forward to The Other Curt by Juice and he adds:
Hi Guys,
I would like all of you to read this email. For those of you who are mentioned in this email positively. I want to thank you. For those of you who are not. I would like you to read it carefully and make the proper adjustments. This isn’t rocket science. There is no reason why we should ever receive an email like this from our GM. Going forward if any of these infractions continue I am not going to write you up. I will simply suspend all your privileges and if it continues, dismiss you.
The rules for all trainers. Cell phones only in designated areas. Behind the ops area where the mail boxes are or in an office. That is it!
Towels are to be handed out on the half hour, not before. If you are handing them out before you must make sure that you repeat it on the half hour.
Do not put your shit in my office. I will throw it away if it is in there going forward, nor in the Equifit room. Get a locker or leave it home!
We will review during the forum tomorrow.
